Here is some examples of writing I have done for a workplace setting. All of these examples I have done in a classroom setting with the emphasis of real world uses. The main focus of each piece was purpose and audience. Those two goals were broken down and analyzed for each piece. Then a plan and out line was drawn up, followed by drafts with peer edits (and in the case of the instructions, usability tests) inserted between the drafts.
In the case of the grant proposal, group work was needed. We had to do research as a group, before even starting, to find a suitable grant to help our organization. This group project is a great example of what happens when a member of the group does not pull their weight. Under normal circumstances the rest of the group has to pick up the slack. In this case our grade was not damaged by the lack of participation of one of our team. Therefore you will notice blank sections with our members name. This project was just completed. Our next step is to fill in his sections, do a final edit, and give it to our organization to be able to apply for this grant. It is our work in progress.
